It was a great night for experimental film Birdman, and The Grand Budapest Hotel also picked up its fair share of awards. It was a wonderful night full of entertainment and impassioned acceptance speeches, campaining real issues such as Patricia Arquette’s call for gender equality.
Eddie Redmayne charmed us all with his disbelief upon receiving his award for Best Actor for his role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything, also dedicating his win to a worthy cause.
Lady Gaga gave a huge performance in the form of a medley from the Sound Of Music, being joined by Julie Andrews herself. This marked the 50th anniversary of the hit musical’s release and was an interesting addition to the evening’s events.
All in all it was an evening to remember with a number of huge successes. If you get the chance try to catch up on all the action because it is truly something worth seeing.
