25 year old, local photographer and photo journalist.
Born in Lithuania (Eastern Europe) to a Russian family and moving to Britain, I have a strong passion for British architecture of 1950′s to 1970′s called Brutalism. During my photography studies at Hull School Of Art & Design, I researched Russian constructivism and propaganda poster creators from the USSR era. Constructivism was introduced in Russia in 1913 and made a great effect on modern art and its acceptance in Russian society of that period. My studies were based around simple, primary colours and shapes. The combination of both the constructivism and brutalism allowed me to look at the day to day architecture details and objects in a repetitive manner and use the result as the main subject in my images. I create strong objects with three dimensional effects using architecture and urban details in my photographs. Shadows, lines, parallels and bold shapes are the main features of my creations designed to follow every detail within the photograph. The images featured in this gallery were taken during my travel around East Yorkshire and Europe particularly Berlin.
