Rise Against – The Black Market
Press play and a slightly operatic sequence ensues before the pace quickens and high-powered rock music fills your ears. This is the beginning of ‘The Black Market’, the new album from Rise Against.
‘The Black Market’ focuses on the cost of self-awareness and Tim McIllrath, vocals/guitar, says: “Rise Against has always been a political band, but also a personal band. We’ve always had songs that have a foot in both worlds. This album is a lot more introspective to me.”
You can certainly hear such vibes and the power of opinion in the song lyrics, but what does it actually sound like?
With the classic, raw vocals we’ve come to expect and the energetic beat of the drums and guitar, this album is not one to be missed – and it’s bound to have you up on your feet within minutes, dancing around your bedroom or simply feeling empowered to stand up and take control.
‘The Black Market’ is the seventh studio album from the boys and the first featured single, ‘I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore,’ is out now - just to tease you for the album even more. And as if that wasn’t enough juicy news, a UK tour is set to follow in the near future, so watch this space!
‘The Black Market’ is due for release Monday 14 July.
