Resident Evil 2

‘Resident Evil 2′ is a 2019 remake of the 1998 classic of the same name for the PS1, and I honestly have to say this remake was absolutely phenomenal.

The game revisits the original Resident Evil 2 story and modernises the gameplay. For example, the first three ‘Resident Evil’ games all took place at some form of fixed camera angle, whereas the camera view in this game is directly over the shoulder of the character you play as. In this game you also get the choice to play as either Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield, and each character has their own campaign, making for a lot of replayabillity.

‘Resident Evil 2′ really brings back the horror elements of original games. In a way they are in a similar vein to ‘Resident Evil 7′, but the jump scares are much more subtle. The enemy variety is also really good. Instead of the four or five variations of the same creature like we had in ‘RE:7′, it throws a lot of the original enemies at you along the way, such as zombies, lickers and zombie dogs, all very challenging to take on in their own way. This isn’t a game where you can just take down everything you come across. Finally, there are also a ton of puzzles for you to figure out, adding an extra layer of challenge and fun to what is already a great piece of entertainment.
