Once Upon a Lifetime
There really is no greater feeling than booking a holiday. Something to count down to, something to look forward to, something to close our eyes at night for. Whether it’s across the world or a city hop, by train, by plane, by car… the feeling is immense.
I recently landed back in Heathrow from a trip of a lifetime. I travelled Western USA for just under two weeks and covered a hell of a lot of ground. 2000 miles driven later and I arrived at the concert the whole trip had been booked around – Metallica and Avenged Sevenfold (that is surely for another article though right?). But right now, I’m going to give you a whistle stop tour of the ‘worth trip’ sights I saw along the way.
Vegas – Top Things To See…
See a Show
Rule number one. You absolutely MUST see a show! It doesn’t matter if it’s Elton, Britney, Cher, but just go. I saw Penn and Teller at the Rio and they blew me away.
Fremont Street
The Fremont Street experience was a little underwhemling after covering the Vegas strip but it is definitely worth a trip just for the people watching. They have awesome bands playing free shows most weekends and a canopy of LED’s which dance every hour on the hour, a spectacular lighting show.
Visit the Venetian
Vegas is made up of tiny version duplicates of landmarks from around the world and the Venetian is no exception. Truly grasp the feel of Venice in this beautiful hotel, take a beau on a gondola ride and be serenaded – expensive, but totally cute.
Lose Yourself in the Grand Canyon
An incredibly breath-taking trip more than worth the money, but do your research beforehand. There are lots of options on where to go and which package to purchase so make sure you know what you’re doing, otherwise before you know it you’ve just paid $400 to take a 30 minute helicopter ride there and back. The Grand Canyon speaks for itself; everybody needs to see this natural phenomenon of beauty.
