Monopoly puts Grimsby on the Map
A new edition of popular board game Monopoly launched this week at the Fishing Heritage Centre, with the Mayor, representitives and even Mr Monopoly making an appearance. As you may have already guessed, this latest release in none other than a Grimsby and Cleethorpes edition of the classic game. There had been talks in the past, but now it would appear the dream has finally become a reality. From Cleethorpes beach and Blundell Park to The Dock Tower and the Grimsby Institute, you can now play to buy out a number of well-known attractions and businesses in the area.
Monopoly sees you investing money on property to turn the biggest profits and milk your opponents dry, and it already has many editions. This one is an interesting addition that I’m sure we’d all be interested in taking a look at in our little town, even if it’s just out of the sheer curiosity of finding out which locations made it to the panels. While the game itself will naturally be no different to any other version, it should certainly be something fun and different to do with family and friends on a dark winter night anyway.
