London Fashion Week – Trend Report Summary

Day 3 – Temperley London

London Fashion Week is over as the party ships itself off to Milan for the next stretch of the season’s events. London showed a range of inspiration this year for AW15, but there were some clear common trends cropping up.

Black is in and as hot as ever, and add to that a bold or floral print and you’re onto a winner. Tailored or oversized coats are the way to go for warmth, with classic cable knit jumpers bringing up the rear.

As well as wool, leather or leather look was a very common material choice on the catwalks, as well as fur and feathering. From collars and cuffs to full on jackets, fur is something to look out for.

On the opposite side of the scale, sheer material was showcased in several of the week’s collections, as cut out panels or an all over look. This is a great way to flash the flesh without having to brave the cold in bare arms and legs.

And who doesn’t love to shimmer in the moonlight a little. Sparkles and metallic is as in as ever, as well as some good old animal print, especially something neutral like zebra stripes. Tartan checks were another common feature, which is great as it’s such a fitting print for the season.

Designs came looking structured and fitted, and loose and floaty, making dressing stylish for your shape much easier. If these trends are anything to go by, we’re going to be seeing similar ideas appearing on the high street later in the year, and if that’s the case it’s set to be fabulous.
