Halo: The Master Chief Collection
‘Halo: The Master Chief’ collection brings back every game in the series relating to main character, the Master Chief. We see a return to the original ‘Halo Combat Evolved’ from 2001, 2002′s ‘Halo 2′, 2007′s ‘Halo 3′, and alongside these ‘Halo 4′, one of their most recent.
In my opinion, the most worth it are the original and ‘Halo 2′, as they definitely look the best. There is this really simple but really cool feature allowing you to switch between the new and old art styles, meaning you can choose whether to play something that looks new, or get a nostalgia kick if you’re a long-term fan of the franchise.
However, despite this praise, there are also quite a few problems here. Firstly, at launch a lot of the features were broken, such as online multiplayer, that crashed a lot, and to make matters worse, 5 years on (the collection was first released way back in 2014), a lot of these issue still have not been fixed. Additionally, if you already owned the individual games, ‘Halo 3′ looks exactly the same as the Xbox 360 version, and ‘Halo 4′ lacks a lot of the content the 360 version had as well.
The game does have multiplayer capabilities, and whilst this idea of playing multiplayer from all four games is very interesting, it sadly lacks one of the key features of a ‘Halo’ game – customisation. Instead of really feeling like an individual with your own designs, you have to choose from a bland set of ready-created outfits. Having said this, the multiplayer gameplay is still fantastic… aside from the lagging on release…
