Fashion Designer Elie Saab
After studying the work of fashion designer ElieSaab, I have discovered the style to be unique, graceful and sophisticated. I feel inspired by the soft, pale colour palette, the sheer lavish fabrics and intricate detailing. The romantic feel of her clothing, especially the “water garden’s” range is an inspiring idea, with prints based on impressionist artists such as Claude Monet.
All of the gowns in the collection are well-fitting ye tfeminine and floating, and they all have an almost invisible structure. The most reoccurring shape is a close fitting bodice or corset that descends into along and loose flowing skirt that moves with the body.
The fabrics featured are; silk, chiffon, lace, tulle, muslin and organza. They are used to create delicate volume and layering in floor length dresses.
The decoration that has been used features;appliqué, embroidery, sequins, pearls, corsages, ruffles and pin tucks. All are used throughout without being overpowering. The embellishments emphasise the beauty and simplicity of the garments.
